Job Purpose/Background

BlackRock Impact is looking for a VP level candidate who will support platform growth by assisting with the execution of strategic initiatives, engaging with clients and supporting servicing and relationship management, portfolio onboarding and product development, and leading business management initiatives. This position is a multi-faced role which requires interaction with many key stakeholders, including BlackRock Client Channels, Investment and Product groups, Marketing and Communications, Product Strategy, Business Operations and Legal & Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Drive incremental sales of BlackRock's sustainable investment products and capabilities

  • Engage BlackRock clients and relationship management teams to identify and prioritize client opportunities
  • Understand investor objectives and position BlackRock Impact products and capabilities
  • Oversee the RFP process for manager searches which entail sustainable investing solutions
  • Address new and recurring client requests from various distribution teams
  • Drive internal education on product platform and the market and help form and maintain relationships with distribution partners to achieve sales strategy
  • Prepare content for client presentations, internal trainings and senior management talking points
  • Represent BlackRock at industry panels and conference, client events, and print/media

Translate product research and innovation into commercial opportunities

  • Understand and optimize BlackRock existing sustainable product suite
  • Evaluate new product ideas based on industry trends, client demand, and competitors
  • Partner with internal research teams and external industry partners to develop new strategies and reporting capabilities
  • Manage internal product processes including partnership with SPM on product approvals and capital management

Support business strategy and deliver project management responsibilities

  • Partner with the senior members of the team (D, MD) to define objectives and focus areas for the business, develop action plans and sales budgets and drive implementation
  • Support cross-functional, regional strategic project management
  • Develop and maintain a competitor analysis and activity monitoring framework and deliver regular update on industry trends and regulatory environment changes
  • Maintain and evolve a platform business activity dashboard, support team prioritization exercises
  • Maintain and evolve an internal newsletter to communicate platform update
  • Promote intra- and inter-team communications by tracking urgent and important follow-up items
  • Support team with in ad-hoc requests

Knowledge/Experience

  • Extensive experience in financial services with knowledge of project and/or business management, business strategy
  • Interest in sustainable investing, ESG issues and/or impact investment
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills including ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask and manage multiple diverse projects
  • Problem solving: think logically and deconstruct a larger problem into sub-components, prioritize issues and allocate resources
  • Work effectively with different teams and partner with a range of colleagues and groups across the firm to execute strategic plans
  • Structured communication and interpersonal skills
