Description:

The Corporate Investor Relations (IR) team is part of BlackRock’s Finance organization, which supports the Board and senior management in optimally positioning the firm to create shareholder value and driving the achievement of strategic priorities. The primary goal of the IR team is to educate and update shareholders and analysts about the strategic direction and financial results of BlackRock. IR is an extremely important group within BlackRock with a high degree of autonomy, responsibility, and visibility to senior management, sell-side analysts and public investors.

Job Description:

The responsibilities of an Analyst on the Investor Relations team include:

  • Perform valuation and analytical exercises for BlackRock and its competitors in support of senior management and the corporate strategy team

  • Develop materials for shareholder meetings, financial conferences, earnings releases and Investor Days

  • Support the quarterly earnings process through maintaining a database of key business metrics, monitoring consensus estimates, producing prep documents for senior management, managing earnings call logistics and performing post-earnings analysis and summaries

  • Drive competitive analysis on a monthly basis, including keeping track of financial results, strategy, and research for BlackRock and its peers

  • Report on market performance, economic developments, regulatory issues and other public market information

  • Monitor shareholder information, including changes in ownership at both the institutional and fund levels, and own and maintain relationship management database

Qualifications:

  • 0-1 years of financial services experience

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement

  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to senior internal and external audiences

  • Good judgment and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment

  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail

  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
