BlackRock Product Strategy – Credit Strategist – Analyst
BlackRock’s Global Credit team manages more than $150 billion in assets across public and private market credit strategies. The platform, along with BlackRock’s Global Fixed Income platform, offers clients one of the industry's broadest arrays of investment choices across index, model-based and fundamental investment styles.
The Credit Product Strategy team is a bridge between investment teams and BlackRock’s client teams (and underlying clients). The Analyst will be responsible for the development, preparation and maintenance of investment content, as well as product, market and business-related materials for BlackRock’s Global Credit business and select public market credit products. The Analyst will assist with preparing for client and prospect meetings, including updating presentation materials, portfolio reviews and market updates. The Analyst will work closely with portfolio managers, credit analysts, other product strategists and internal retail sales teams on a daily basis, and will be essential to handling a wide range of requests. Through this role the Analyst will gain familiarity with the investment process and portfolio construction across our product range, the markets that we participate in and how we go to market across various products with a focus on the retail distribution channel.
The New York-based Product Strategy Team is looking for an Analyst to act as a representative for our credit strategies across multi-strategy credit retail products. Specifically the role will focus on the support of our range of liquid credit solutions across liquid alternatives and multi-asset credit portfolios.
Champion the strategic growth of the retail multi-strategy credit products
Support senior team members and retail sales teams by disseminating information and data regarding our Funds and products and answer questions pertaining to broader markets
Learn about fixed income markets, our investment strategies and how each strategy is competitive in the market
Partner with retail sales and marketing teams to assist in fund raising efforts and asset retention across the platform
Maintain marketing materials for all strategies and product offerings
Write market/investment commentaries for investors, shareholders, current clients and prospects
Gather competitive data, run Fund analytics/risk metrics versus our competitors, and draft competitive positioning points for our strategies
Oversee, coordinate and/or participate in updating investor performance reporting
Assist with internal projects focused on presenting senior management with business and market updates and prepare materials for our mutual fund board committee
Aspire to become a client-facing strategist
BA/BS required, CFA designation or participation preferred
Prior relevant internship/work experience and some Fixed Income knowledge strongly preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency around deadlines
Self-starter who can work effectively on their own as well as with a team, while being resourceful and able to work with other groups to obtain the information necessary to complete tasks
Ability to synthesize data from BlackRock’s proprietary systems in a way that is easy to understand and relevant for client discussions
Highly proficient in Excel, with ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet
Highly proficient in PowerPoint, with ability to create marketing slides, enhance our sales pitch, and update pitch books
Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills
Desire to build working knowledge in Fixed Income Credit
