BlackRock’s Corporate Strategy and Development Group is responsible for supporting the firm in positioning BlackRock to generate robust, long-term growth and shareholder value creation through formulating and executing enterprise-level vision and strategy, facilitating business level strategies and driving large multi-functional assignments and initiatives for the firm. The team is also responsible for sourcing, assessing and executing acquisitions, investments, divestitures and partnerships / alliances based on BlackRock's strategic priorities.

Description:

Based in New York or San Francisco, this person will contribute as a senior strategist at the DIR-level to broader strategy projects and initiatives. The candidate will report to a Managing Director on the team and partner closely with BlackRock’s Head of the Americas region as well as other senior business leaders on a range of strategic initiatives and engagements, most notably within the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities:

•Contribute to the development of enterprise and firm-wide growth strategies

•Work with senior management and business unit leaders, primarily in the Americas region, to determine strategic objectives and identify opportunities to meet these goals including (but not limited to); market entry strategies, business prioritization, and assessing strategic investments

•Communicate strategic priorities and execution plans across the firm through presentations, meetings, written communications, etc.

•Lead and develop direct reports and help coach a wider group of strategy professionals

•Recruit, lead and motivate a high performing, diverse team that consistently delivers world-class results to meet the growing challenges of the firm and function

Qualifications:

•The ideal candidate will currently be operating in a senior level in-house strategy role within Financial Services or as a senior consultant to the sector. While Asset Management industry knowledge is preferred, consideration will also be given to candidates from investing/private equity, wealth management, financial technology and broader financial services

•Knowledge of and exposure to the full range of BlackRock’s activities is preferred: retail distribution, institutional distribution, ETFs, wealth management, marketing, alternatives, portfolio management and capital markets, and trading.

•Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills; familiarity with financial statements, valuation and financial modeling

•Experience of leading large scale high impact strategy assignments

•Experience leading and managing project teams
